The 2023 festive period once again saw the Story Plant team out in force, completing works on 18 projects for a variety of clients across the UK.
In England the team were carried out the installation of more than 40 610 piles at Hadley Wood in London over a 60-hour possession, while also completing further works for Network Rail to support OLE replacement works in Peterborough, structure examinations and gantries in Preston and emergency works at Daw Lane LC following high winds. The team also completed further emergency works at the RIDC Test Track in Melton Mowbray for Bridgeway.
In addition the team completed screw piling works in Wakefield for KGJ Price, gable end strengthening at Manchester Piccadilly for Story Contracting and works on the Hope Valley Railway Upgrade for the VolkerStoryJV.
On the Welwyn to Hitchin Re-signalling project the team carried out troughing deliveries for cable installations and material removal for Siemens over 84 and 72-hour possessions at Hitchin Yard and Stotford respectively, whilst also carrying out cable deliveries for the same client at Langford Station.
North of the border, the Story Plant team in Scotland were also supporting Siemens throughout the festive period, with their projects including the installation of location cabinets at Falkirk High Station and installation of location cabinets and alterations to Overhead Line Equipment at Greenhill.
At Greenhill the team were also working with Rail Systems Alliance Scotland in order to complete S&C renewals and further OLE works, with RSAS’ works at Craigentinny Junction South (CAT 16/11 plain line renewal), Cove Level Crossing (new level crossing installation) and Princes Street Gardens (core drainage).
To complete Story Plant’s activity across the festive period, the team also carried out works for Story Scotland on the East Kilbride Electrification project, where demolition works were carried out to OB19, OB21 and OB23.
