Story Plant have launched their search for four new Apprentices to join their team. The news comes as part of the company’s commitment to provide twenty apprenticeship opportunities over the next five years.
Story Plant are in search of an Apprentice Fitter Electric, an Apprentice Fitter Fabricator and an Apprentice Workshop Stock Controller to join the company’s Carlisle Depot, as well as an Apprentice Fitter to be based from their Depot in Normanton.
Joining the company full time, the Apprentices will earn while they learn, gaining practical experience, technical training, and mentorship from the experienced Plant team.
To provide them with the necessary academic knowledge, they will also be supported through a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) and attend college on a part time basis.
An interest in machinery, excellent communication skills and the ability to work as an enthusiastic team player will be required for the roles.
Jon Kittoe is currently an Apprentice Tools Fitter in the Plant team, having joined the company in August 2020. He said: “I’m really grateful to the Plant team for the support they’ve given me throughout my apprenticeship so far. It’s been fantastic to learn new skills and gain valuable work experience whilst also earning money, particularly since we’re on double the normal apprenticeship wage.”
Applications for the four apprenticeships close on Monday 26th April and more information can be found here.
