Last week the Story Plant team welcomed three new excavators into the fleet, after the new JCB220XLC machines were delivered to our Carlisle Head Office from ScotJCB.
The excavators feature state-of-the-art Stage V engines to help reduce emissions and improve performance on site, and represent a £350,000 investment in enhancing our civils capability.
After arriving in our yard last Friday, the first of the machines was put through testing and checked over, ready to head out on its first project just two days later, with the machine now taking up residence at Browney Curve in County Durham.
The machine will be put to work on the £33m project, on behalf of Network Rail, for over a year, with the works ensuring that train services along the East Coast Main Line can run reliably and safely for years to come.
