Story Plant celebrate new depot opening

Tuesday marked the formal opening of Story Plant Limited’s new Birmingham Depot in Kings Norton, as the company expands its UK footprint. This will allow the team to provide specialist operated road rail vehicles, haulage, POS management, tool hire & consumable sales services to the Midlands, Wales, London, and the South of the UK.

Key clients, suppliers and stakeholders were invited to a fun and interactive event full of opportunities to meet the Story team and find out more about their projects, plant, and people.

The new 1,100 sqm depot includes meeting rooms, open-plan office space and workshop areas, allowing Story to expand their business further and provide rail plant machinery across the region.

Emma Porter, Story Plant Managing Director said, “I am so exceptionally proud of our Birmingham team. We wanted to get across clear messages on what we do and how we do it. We created four ‘zones’; HSQE, Operations, Culture and Facilities. The event included an interactive session on Net Zero, a psychogeometrics game, showed the new AIVR system in action and gave everyone a tour of the facilities.”

The company has ambitions to create further job opportunities in the region, to add to the 54 Story colleagues already based in Birmingham. Story Plant’s Birmingham Depot will be hosting an RRV operator recruitment day this Saturday as the next step in their plans to grow their team of plant operators and machine/crane controllers to deliver a growing work bank.
