We are always looking for enthusiastic team players to join us and help build their future to become the next generation of talent in the Plant industry. In 2021 we committed to provide a further 20 apprentice opportunities alone over the course of the next five years.

As an Apprentice or Trainee with Story Plant you will gain hands on experience working alongside experienced professionals who will mentor you throughout your programme. Our Apprentices and Trainees are employed in full time roles, with day release at college to work towards gaining your relevant qualification, enabling you to master your trade and earn while you learn.

Our programmes are available in a range of disciplines and can include Apprentice and Trainee roles across the business, including Plant Operators, Maintenance Fitters, Refurbishment Fitters and Small Tools Fitters.

Induction

As a new Apprentice or Trainee you will experience a comprehensive two-week induction programme. Whilst this is structured, it is delivered in a relaxed and informal way enabling you to forge new relationships with your colleagues and bond as a group.

Accredited Qualification

You will be enrolled on a qualification which is relevant to your job role to give you the skills you need to succeed at Story Plant. We work with local training partners to deliver bespoke qualifications to equip you for the work of work. This is supplemented with additional technical training which is delivered in-house.

Pastoral Care

We are passionate about ensuring that our new Apprentices and Trainees are supported to integrate within the business. We fully understand that the transition from full-time education to the world of work can be challenging and therefore maintain regular contact to support each individual settle into the team.

Development Days

Every three months you will join your fellow Apprentices and Trainees at an organised Development Day. Here you will be given the opportunity to develop new skills via accredited training, work collaboratively and continuously review your performance so far.

The Recruitment Process

We believe that our recruitment process is two-way. It is as much about us finding the right people as it is about you finding your perfect job. We genuinely want people who are considering joining Story Plant to feel as excited about the prospect of joining us as we hope our customers feel when working with us. To ensure we recruit quality people into our business we take each candidate through a thorough recruitment process which includes four stages; Application and Assessment Centre, Technical Interview, Candidate Questions and finally an Offer of Employment.
